- Reported directly to the president and served on College management team

- Directed, managed and coordinated College advertising, alumni affairs, community relations, Foundation Board activities, fundraising, grants, legislative affairs, marketing, public relations, publications, scholarships, special events and Web site
- Managed five full-time employees and one part-time employee
Major Accomplishments (under my leadership):
- Raised more than $1 million in private and grant funds in 2002; this increase in fundraising compares to $642,887 raised in 2001 and $467,305 raised in 2000
- Coordinated the College’s participation in Virginia’s 2002 General Obligation Bond Referendum, which passed with more than 72 percent of the vote
- Wrote the College’s first-ever crisis communications plan (before September 11, 2001), long-range public relations plan and development plan
- Redesigned the College’s Web site
- Generated and placed record number of print and broadcast stories
- Conceptualized new strategy for class schedules, resulting in a savings of more than $100,000
